E-Books

The University Library Mainz has concluded an agreement with Oxford University Press, giving access to over 3,000 e-books across all subject areas. For more detailed information, please go to our database portal DBIS and to the web pages of "Oxford Scholarship Online".

The following German-language e-book collections have been permanently acquired from Springer:

Architecture and Design
Chemistry and Materials Science
Humanities, Social Sciences and Law
Earth and Environmental Science
Biomedical and Life Sciences
Mathematics and Statistics
Medicine
Physics and Astronomy
Behavioral Science
Business and Economics

The collections contain over 5,500 titles from between 2006 and 2010. Over the course of 2011 several hundred more titles are expected. The "Architecture," "Humanities and Social Sciences, Law" and "Psychology" collections contain titles from the years 2008 to 2011, while the "Medicine" collection contains titles from 2007 to 2011. As well as Springer publications, the collections also include books from publishers including Gabler, Teubner and Vieweg. All these titles can be accessed campus-wide at any time by an unlimited number of users. Printing and/or saving full texts is permitted for the purposes of the user's own academic work; however, systematic downloading of entire books is not allowed.
