Berlin Declaration

Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) has joined the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge.

JGU Is Committed to Open Access

University President Prof. Dr. Georg Krausch signed the declaration in January 2013, making a clear commitment to Open Access. The Berlin Declaration of October 2003 is regarded as one of the milestones of the Open Access movement and a benchmark for the future handling of research literature and data. The statement was initiated by the Max Planck Society.

The main aim of the signatories is to promote scientific discussion through online publications and to make it accessible to the broadest possible public.

JGU also supports the OA 2020 mission.
