Publishing Your Own Open Access Journal

Would you like to publish a journal in Diamond Open Access? We support members of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) in founding and publishing their own works!

Our Offer:

  • Guidance on starting a journal
  • Guidance on the requirements of diamond Open Access publishing
  • Hosting of Diamond Open Access Journals
  • Provision of the technical infrastructure (Editorial Management System)
  • Professional web presence of the journal
  • Arranging training courses for editors
  • Assignment of a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) and a URN (Uniform Resource Name)
  • Transfer of metadata for indexing by external information services
  • Long-term archiving in the JGU repository "Gutenberg Open Science"

Our offer is aimed at all disciplines (also interdisciplinary).
The editorial management system we provide supports the publication process from submission to publication. Editing and proofreading remain with the scientific editors.

Diamond Open Access

Open Access stands for free and open access to scientific publications on the Internet. Diamond Open Access (DOA) is a quality-assured form of publication in which authors do not incur any costs for submitting articles.

Prerequisites

At least one of the editors must be a member of JGU.

The contributions are published under the CC BY 4.0 license.

You conclude a cooperation agreement with Mainz University Library for the provision of the journal. Among other things, it specifies the costs and the minimum period.
